SPE question

QUESTION: We are hoping that the books for lower both Yr7 & Yr8 will be useful for the students. Is is possible to know how to break down the 30% for year 7 & 8?

ANSWER: You don't have to break down the 30% weigthage for Yr 7 & Yr 8 because it is continuos assessment, you have to add ALL the student's marks then just divide it with the number of work.

1. For Example: you have four (4) topical test throughout Yr 7 and Yr 8.

T1 = 60/100
T2 = 65/100
T3 = 50/100
T4 = 80/100

255 (60+65+50+80)/ 4

= 63.75

TAKE 10% OF 63.75 WHICH IS 6.375 (TOPICAL TEST)

2. take marks for SBA END OF YR 7 Exam.

Example =

student marks = 80 /100

TAKE 15% OF 80 WHICH IS 12(END OF YR EXAM FOR YR 7)

3. You have 2 (two) projects throughout Yr 7 and Yr 8

Example =

Project 1 = 70 /100

Project 2 = 90 /100

TAKE 5% OF (70+90/2 = 80) WHICH IS 4(PROJECT)

TOTAL FOR 30% (SBA) EQUALS

1.TOPICAL TEST = 6.375
2.END OF YEAR EXAM YR 7 = 12.0
3. PROJECT = 4.0
22.375

The Report: Brunei Darussalam 2008 book coverThe Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, located on the northwest corner of Borneo in the South China Sea, is perhaps best known for its political stability and the rich supply of hydrocarbons that lie beneath its soil. However, the Sultanate is proving itself to be worth much more than oil, as the government makes a push for economic diversification, zeroing in on Islamic financial services and a well-educated population, among other things, as a path to sustainable growth.

NEW COMMERCE BOOK

Hi welcome back to school teachers!!! As you are well aware the basic Commerce Year7 should be in your school (government school).

The textbook is selling like hot cakes or 'pisang goreng' at bookshops. For your info, the publisher have printed 5000 copies for distribution. I heard from the local distributor, the book will be available by next week (between 13th - 17th Jan 09) again in the bookstore.

As for Commerce Yr8 book by Mr Kennith Chin, is a slight delay, we can't promise when the book will be supplied to government schools but i heard is out in the market by the 13th Jan 2009 at Booker International and Bismi Trading. So you can purchase personally first for your own copy.

For your information they will be two (2) publications for Year 8 Book. One of which is a continuation of Vikki's book by STAR publishing and one is by Mr Kennith Chin.

Any comments on Year 7 Book?
