1. Describe three characteristics that make good money material? [3 marks]

ANSWER:
a) It is generally acceptable as payment for goods and services and settlements of debts.
b) It is durable i.e. last longer and not easily rotten.
c) It is easily divided i.e. easily divided into smaller units without losing its value.


Part 2: Applications Skills EXAMPLE ONLY:

Answer only four questions. [teachers please prepare 5 questions : mix of Yr7/8 topics]

1. Raiyan wishes to buy a security system package for his business. The cash price for the package is $10 000. He can pnly afford to buy and pay in installment. The down payment for TV is 10% of the cash price with 48 monthly installments of $250.

Calculate

c. Total hire purchase cost:___________________ [1 mark]

ANSWER:
Calculate
d. Down Payment:__10/100 x 10 000 = $1 000 [1 mark]

f. Total hire purchase cost:___$1000 +$12000 = $13000 [1 mark]
